1. Download the application at

http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php

Scroll down and under "Clients", Click the Download button next to your operating system.

2. Follow the on screen instructions for installation.

3. Start ventrilo

3.1 Click on the arrow next to User name. A window titled "Setup User" will appear. Click on the button titled NEW. "Setup new
user" window will pop-up. ENTER your fFirst and last name as assigned by Ric. then click "OK"

3.2 In the field next to Phonetic , type in your first and last names again. Click "OK" when you are done.

4. the USA server

4.1 In the main Ventrilo interface window. Click on the arrow
right next to the SERVER field. A window titled "Connection Editor" should appear.

4.2 Click on the button titled NEW. A window titled "Setup new server" will appear.

4.2.1 In the Name field, type : USA. Then click OK.

4.2.2 now that you are back in the "Connection Editor" window fill the following information:

Hostname or IP voice500.hurricanehost.com

Port number 3840

Password   zan2006                  all lower case.

Click "OK" when you are done.

5 Setup

5.1 Now back to the main Ventrilo screen. Click on the SETUP tab to your right. The window "setup" will appear.

Please check in the boxes next to the following options:

Enable outgoing voice communications.

Use push-to-talk hotkey.

Play key Clicks


5.2 Click left on the the blank field next to Hotkey and left click. Press a button on your keyboard that you will use as a push to talk button. Please make sure this is a different key than the ASRC application button you use. The right or left Ctrl key is recommended.

5.3 select an output device , your PC speakers or headset (if able).

5.4 Select an input device , your microphone.

5.5 Click on the TEST button located in the lower Left corner. Press your assigned push to talk key and begin speaking. When you are done speaking, you should hear a playback of what you said.

Press TEST again, to deactivate testing mode. Adjust the sliders to the
right until you are satisfied with your read back.

You may have to adjust these sliders at a later time again if other users have problems understanding you.

Click "OK".

You are now in the main screen, Click connect and start talking!
